Puedo escribir los versos más tristes esta noche

I can write the saddest verses tonight

Escribir por ejemplo: La noche está estrellada

Write, for example: The night is starry

Y tiritan, azules, los astros, a lo lejos

And the stars, blue, shiver in the distance

Y el viento de la noche, gira en el cielo y canta

And the night wind spins in the sky and sings

Puedo escribir los versos más tristes esta noche

I can write the saddest verses tonight

Yo lo (a) quise y a veces él (ella) también me quiso

I loved him (her), and at times, he (she) loved me too

Me besó (la besé) tantas veces bajo el cielo infinito

He (she) kissed me (I kissed her) so many times under the infinite sky

De otra (o) será de otra (o) como antes de mis besos

Another (one) will be another (one), as before my kisses

Es tan corto el amor y (es) tan largo el olvido

Love is so short, and forgetting is so long
