El niño de Belém

Nació como un bebé pequeño y nada más,

Born as a little baby, and nothing more,

como uno entre tantos que a la vida nacen ya.

Like one among many who are born into life.

No ocurrió nada más, era un ni....ño.

Nothing else happened, he was a child.

Nació y ninguno preguntó si de mayor

Born, and no one asked if, when grown up,

Él tendría gran poder para sanar,

He would have great power to heal,

si andaría sobre el mar.

If he would walk on the sea.

He was a child.

Nació y ninguno preguntó si iba a morir,

Born, and no one asked if he would die,

si la gente algún día lo iba a odiar,

If people would someday hate him,

si sería el redentor,

If he would be the redeemer,

si traería libertad.

If he would bring freedom.

¿Quién pensó que aquel niñito moriría en la cruz

Who thought that the little child would die on the cross,

trayendo a nuestro mundo nueva aurora de luz

Bringing a new dawn of light to our world,

y una nueva vida y una oportunidad

And a new life and an opportunity

de llegar al Padre una vez más?

To reach the Father once again?

¿Quién pensó que al tercer día iba a resucitar

Who thought that on the third day he would resurrect,

batiendo al infierno y a la muerte fatal,

Defeating hell and fatal death,

abriendo nuevos tiempos de felicidad

Opening new times of happiness

Por amor, por amor a ti?

For love, for love of you?

Hoy nuestro mundo se ha olvidado de Jesús,

Today our world has forgotten Jesus,

ha cambiado Su victoria por placer terrenal,

Exchanging His victory for earthly pleasure,

de Su cruz queda ya un recuerdo.

From His cross, only a memory remains.

Vivir, matar si es necesario alguna vez,

Living, killing if necessary at times,

cortar la vida antes de que pueda aun nacer,

Cutting life before it can even be born,

y del niño de Belén un recuerdo;

And a memory of the child of Bethlehem;

jugar a ser una mejor generación

Playing to be a better generation,

marcharse si es posible del hogar

Leaving home if possible,

sembrar odio y rencor, sin saber perdonar.

Sowing hatred and resentment, without knowing how to forgive.

Escucha en esta hora la eterna verdad

Listen at this hour to the eternal truth,

que el niño de Belén un día va a regresar

That the child of Bethlehem will one day return,

y en gloria y en poder Él juzgara tanta maldad

And in glory and power, He will judge so much evil,

marcando frontera final

Marking the final border,

y todo el universo le podrá contemplar

And the entire universe will be able to contemplate Him,

y toda obra oculta a la luz nacerá.

And every hidden work will be born into the light.

Su iglesia marchara con Él a un nuevo lugar,

His church will march with Him to a new place,

un hogar, un dulce hogar que Él prepara ya.

A home, a sweet home that He is preparing already.
